Tender Strength

A 6-week Zoom group for women experiencing repeated pregnancy loss

This weekly group is for women dealing with the complex emotional anguish of repeated pregnancies that end in loss. This is a gruelling experience that is often suffered in isolation, and amongst much misunderstanding, and uncertainty. The six weeks of meetings can’t promise ‘healing’ or ‘closure’ as an outcome, but they offer community, reflection, and an opportunity to be met with kindness, empathy, and practices to develop an essential skill of self-compassion.

Led by psychotherapist and author Julia Bueno, the group will meet on Zoom each Monday, from October 15th 6.30pm-7.45pm (BTS).

Julia has been working as a psychotherapist for twenty years. Alongside her private practice, she has worked for the NHS, in Higher Education, and for charitable counselling services. She examines communication skills of senior doctors for the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, and is a member of the Adjudication Panel of the UKCP’s complaints and conduct process.

Julia has a specialist interest in reproductive loss. She has been a Trustee of the Miscarriage Association and is currently a member of its Health Professional Panel. She also ran support groups for the charity, and manages its directory of specialist talking therapists. Her first book, The Brink of Being - talking about miscarriage was awarded Popular Medicine Book of the Year 2021 by the British Medical Association and was runner-up for the British Psychological Society Book of the Year 2021. It was published in the UK, USA, Taiwan, and Poland. Julia's second book Everyone’s A Critic, explores the universal habit of self-criticism. It was published in Romania, Poland, Mexico, and China. She is working on another book, due to be published in 2026, Coping With Pregnancy Loss.
